Hitec Products Drilling AS in Stavanger, Norway has been awarded a contract for delivery of coiled tubing units for the Norwegian market by Schlumberger. Hitec Products Drilling AS has previously supplied well service equipment to Schlumberger during the last 8 years.

Schlumberger commissioned the project to deliver several advanced coiled tubing units, code named “X – 12 Aurora”. The project will complete at the beginning of 2011 and these units will comply with the highest levels of certification and legislation for use offshore on the Norwegian continental shelf. The latest technology will be used to enable these coiled tubing units to be fully integrated with high levels of automation, using an advanced electro hydraulic control system. This will enable safer, more efficient coiled tubing interventions to be performed.
